My name is Zoran Topalovic. I’ve been here for over 13 years, and my roles at the company have included project management, software development, technical lead, and client partner. It depends on the day, sometimes, on what meeting I’m in. I’ve worked with Conifer. Conifer was about nine years old. I started as a developer, but then I transitioned into a project management role. I then transitioned to NCFB, working as a technical lead and project manager simultaneously. The most interesting thing is the Design Studio. With Conifer, we didn’t have the Design Studio with NCFB; we’re currently actually using the Design Studio in full to build out their forms, their screens, and configure their system rating and smart model creation. We’re unique because we want to meet the customer’s needs. Believe it or not, we think we can handle their idea.
We think we can help them accomplish their goals, even if it sounds like it’s something that hasn’t been done or may not work. That’s how big ideas are made. Most of the carriers I work with have their market niche. They have what they’ve been doing for so many years, where this one was, “let’s try this. Here’s a new market.” They want to jump in on it right away and figure out how to ensure this. Is it profitable? Is the risk too high? So that was a perfect example of trying to stay ahead of the market or their competitors.
